SHARKS REVEAL ‘FABRIC OF THE NORTH’ AS GRASSROOTS CLUBS ARE FEATURED ON 23/24 KITS

Sale Sharks have revealed their new home and away kits, inspired by the grassroots clubs where the homegrown Sharks learned their trade.

The Macron designs pay tribute to the members of Sharks’ 100 Club, where first team stars such as Raffi Quirke, Ben Curry, Lizzie Duffy and Laura Perrin played rugby for the first time.

Clubs including Waterloo, Broughton Park, Eccles and Fylde are included on the navy home and teal away kits launched ahead of the 2023/24 season, which gets underway on Saturday with a home fixture against Bedford Blues [get tickets here].

The club’s names are emblazoned down the side panels – printed in blue on a grey background on the home kit, and in white on teal on the away.

Sale Sharks’ Sales and Marketing Director Claire Butters said: “Our local, grassroots clubs mean everything to us and we wanted to demonstrate that in our kits for this season.

“So many of our players played the game for the first time at these clubs and representing that in these kits is our way of saying thank you for helping us build a team full of northern talent.

“These kits represent our !00 Clubs and northern rugby – they truly are the Fabric of the North.”

Both home and away kits feature Macron’s Eco Fabric, 100% polyester made from recycled plastic.

The players’ Body Fit shirts are made mainly from Eco-Armevo with Eco-Boditex and Eco-Strong Mesh inserts for maximum strength along with lightness and perfect breathability.

The new crew-neck home jersey is in navy blue with grey collar edging and sleeve cuffs. The inside neck is personalised with the club’s logo, and the motto “Respect All Fear None”, while the Macron Hero appears in white on the right side of the chest, and the Sale Sharks crest on the left.

The bottom of the jersey features an embossed shark design. The shorts are in navy blue with grey side panels, and the navy blue socks feature a grey stripe on the upper edge, and have the Macron Hero on the front and 1861, the year the club was founded, on the back.

The away version mirrors the design of the home jersey in teal with a crew neck and sleeve edging in white. The shorts are teal with white side panels, while the socks have a white upper edge and a series of horizontal white stripes of different heights that create a shaded effect.
