Sale Sharks can confirm that centre Waisea Nayacalevu has joined URC side the Ospreys with immediate effect.
Fiji skipper Waisea, 34, joined the club from Top14 side Toulon in the summer but injuries have prevented him from nailing down a regular place in Alex Sanderson’s midfield.
His deal was due to expire in the summer, but the club have allowed him to take this opportunity mid-season to secure more first team action.
Sharks Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson said: “Waisea has been fantastic with the younger players especially while he’s been here. Unfortunately we haven’t seen the best of him in a Sharks shirt but he’s a great guy, a brilliant player and everyone at Sale wishes him all the best for the future.”
