Sale Sharks have signed versatile England age-grade international forward Patrick Hogg on a Senior Academy contract.
The 18-year-old, who had been part of Newcastle Falcons’ academy system, can play in the back row or second row.
He captained England U18s on their tour of South Africa in 2024 and then represented the U19s in 2025.
Last year he won a Rising Star award at the Sport Newcastle annual awards dinner, celebrating the North East’s finest sporting achievements.

Patrick said: “Sale is a great club. The facilities are brilliant and there are so many good players in my position to learn from.
“You can tell that everyone works hard for each other and supports each other and the young players really feel like they’re part of the group.
“I’m an aggressive player and I try and get around the pitch, work hard and put my body on the line for my teammates. Sale is a really good fit for me and I’m excited to get going.”
Sale Sharks Academy Manager Fergus Mulchrone said: “Patrick has a fantastic skill set for a young player. He’s got loads of potential and he’s held in really high regard in the national set up.
“He’s played England age grade level a year early, twice, which tells you how good he is and how well he’s thought of.
“He’s showing traits of being a natural leader and we believe he can develop into a world class talent in the coming years.”
