Sale Sharks have revealed the club’s new Macron home kit for the 2025/26 season, paying tribute to the place where it all began more than 160 years ago.
The new dark blue Macron design features detailed maps of Sale and the surrounding area from 1861 down the side panels of both the shirt and the shorts.

And the ‘Northern Force’ video to accompany the launch, featuring current stars Joe Carpenter, Rob du Preez, Raffi Quirke, Charlotte Fray and Hollie Thorpe was shot at Lark Hill Place, the Victorian street exhibit at the Salford Museum.
The voiceover for the video was provided by lifelong Sharks fan and BBC presenter Mark Chapman, who grew up a stone’s throw from the club’s original home, Heywood Road.
The club now known as Sale Sharks was originally founded as Sale FC by a group of sportsmen in 1861, making it one of the oldest established clubs in England.
Initially based at Sale Cricket Club on Dane Road, the club would find its permanent home at Heywood Road, which is still home to Sale FC’s first team and Sale Sharks Women.

And on Friday night, the current Sharks men’s team will be the first to wear the new home kit when they run out at Heywood Road for a pre-season friendly against Irish province Connacht.
The maps on the sides of the kit combine with the off-white V-neck and sleeve edges to add a retro touch to the kit while on the back, at the bottom of the shirt, embossed and tone-on-tone, is the shark fin accompanied by the date 1861.
On the chest, both in off-white and sublimated print, are the Macron Hero on the right and on the left, the updated Sale Sharks kit crest bringing the focus onto the club’s apex mark – the Shark.
The dark-blue socks feature an off-white horizontal stripe at the top border and the shark fin symbol at calf height, alongside the wording 1861.

The men’s away shirt once again features Toshiba across the front. Newly announced partner FOW Car Supermarket takes pride of place on the right sleeve, with DMR Jewellers moving to a new location below the neckline.
On the women’s kit, principal partner BOL takes pride of place on the front.
The new 2025/26 Sale Sharks Home Kit comes in a body fit and, like all technical garments Macron produces for its clubs, is made of Eco Fabric, 100% polyester derived from post-consumer recycled plastic.
The main fabric used is Eco Armevo, with inserts in Eco Boditex and Eco Strong Mesh ensuring high performance and durability, along with lightness and perfect breathability.

The new kit, along with the apparel line created by Macron for Sale Sharks, is available in the in the club shop from Tuesday 2nd September at 9am or via the shop section of the club website.
You can see Alex Sanderson’s men in action in the new kit for the first time this Friday when they take on Stuart Lancaster’s Connacht side.
And the team will wear the new kit at the Salford Stadium for the first time on Saturday 13th September when the 2025/26 Prem Cup kicks off with a home fixture against Bristol Bears.
Tickets are available for both fixtures – as well as the opening fixture of the new Gallagher Prem season – here.
