England’s women will host Rugby World Cup 2029 hosts Australia, Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 finalists Canada and six-time World Cup winners New Zealand in the trio of WXV Global Series games.

In partnership with Salford City Council and Manchester City Council, England will head north to face the Wallaroos at Sharks’ home on Saturday 12 September.

Sale Sharks Women season ticket holders and match by match purchasers from the current season will have an exclusive 48hr window to buy up to four tickets per person from Thursday 26th March. Details will be sent out via email.

The WXV Global Series features 18 of the world’s best national teams, with the top 12 teams – Australia, Canada, England, France, Italy, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, USA, and Wales competing in a home-and-away, cross-regional touring model. These fixtures will take place within an eight-week global window from the second week of September to the last week of October.

A Salford City Council spokesperson said: “It’s fantastic to be welcoming the England Red Roses to Salford for the only North West fixture in this series. This match builds on the legacy created by the successful Rugby World Cup in 2025, which saw sold out fixtures hosted in the city, and provides the fans the chance to see the country’s sporting super-stars perform.”

Cllr John Hacking, Executive Member for Skills, Employment and Leisure at Manchester City Council, added: “Welcoming the Red Roses to Manchester with the game at Salford Community Stadium is another important step  in our long‑term commitment to championing women and girls in sport. Following the momentum of the Women’s Rugby World Cup and our Northern Grit celebration last year, this fixture helps inspire participation, widen visibility, and strengthen the pathways that support women and girls into rugby and to be active and thrive. We’re proud to continue building a city where every woman and girl can see themselves in sport and feel supported to take part. Manchester  can’t wait to host the World Champions this September.”

Red Roses and Sale Sharks hooker Amy Cokayne continued: “Since moving to Sale, I’ve really seen how deeply rooted women’s rugby is in the community; they absolutely love it. Our Red Roses matches in the north always have an incredible atmosphere with a lively crowd, and it’s  fantastic that the North West will get the chance to host and experience one of our games.”

Sandy Park, home of Exeter Chiefs, will host a repeat of last year’s World Cup final a week later, before the Red Roses take on the Black Ferns in a mouthwatering first-versus-third-in-the-world encounter at Allianz Stadium on Saturday  26 September.

Maddie Feaunati, England and Exeter back row, said: “As seen by games at Sandy Park during the World Cup and PWR, the Devon community really loves and gets behind women’s rugby. The Red Roses thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere when we come down to Exeter, and we can’t wait for another head-to-head with one of the best teams in the world.”

On facing New Zealand at Allianz Stadium, Red Roses captain and Trailfinders Women’s centre, Megan Jones, added: “We embrace these massive occasions and there is not a lot better than a Red Roses v Black Ferns fixture. It is always an incredible feeling to play against them but playing them at Allianz Stadium heightens that excitement even more.”
