SHARKS TO SIGN LIGHTNING STAR WAUDBY

18/06/2026

Sale Sharks have signed versatile Loughborough Lightning forward Kendall Waudby ahead of the 2026/27 PWR season.

The Derby-born 23-year-old began her career as a hooker but has transitioned to the back row, where she featured for her club 16 times last season.

Kendall made her Lightning debut as a replacement against Wasps in September 2022 with her first start coming against her new club shortly after. She’s gone on to make more than 50 appearances for the club.

Her form for her club has led to international call-ups for Wales, including for the recent Women’s Six Nations, although she is yet to win her first cap.

Kendall said: “Having been at Loughborough for my whole career, I’m ready for a new chapter and a new challenge.

“Sale are at the beginning of a very exciting journey, which they’ve proven and shown to the rest of the league this year, and I’m excited to get involved and play my part in that journey.

“I’m excited to develop my own personal game but also continue from a great season that the girls had last year.

“Having adapted a new position, I’m ready to focus on learning from the people around me and giving what I can to better the team.”

Sharks Head Coach Tom Hudson said: “With over 50 appearances for Loughborough Lightning, Kendall is already an experienced PWR player.

“The exciting thing for us though is just how much room and potential to grow there still is in her game and we can’t wait to be the environment in which she does that.”
