OUR NORTHERN FORCE STORIES

19/06/2026

Following the launch of our Northern Force campaign earlier in the season, we are excited to launch our new content series, telling the stories of our players and coaches and giving them the chance to explain what Northern Rugby means to them.

The campaign, launched in April, is focused on the story of the Sale team which won the 1936 Middlesex Sevens, earning itself the nickname ‘The Northern Force.’ Read more here.

As part of the campaign, the club committed to raising money for the Christie Charity, mirroring the fundraising for the Middlesex Cancer Hospital, which took place in 1936.

And now we’re telling OUR stories including George Ford on how he wants to leave the number 10 shirt in a better place than when he arrived, Georgie Perris-Redding on the launch of Sale Sharks Women and men’s skipper Ernst van Rhyn on how he’s made the north of England his home with wife Bianca.

We also hear from BBC broadcaster – and Sharks fan – Mark Chapman on his memories of going to Heywood Road with his dad as a child and what the club means to him.
