FIRST EVER SEMI-FINAL CONFIRMED
The details for Sale Sharks Women’s first ever semi-final has today been confirmed by the PWR.
Sale will head to Trailfinders Sports Ground in Ealing on Saturday 31st October with kick off scheduled for 12pm in the JAECOO PWR Next Gen Cup.
The game will be played as a double header alongside Ealing Trailfinders Championship clash with Doncaster Knights (with the men’s game kicking off at 3pm).
After finishing second in the group behind Saracens, Sale face an undefeated Trailfinders side who topped their pool with wins over Bristol Bears, Harlequins and most recently, Gloucester Hartpury.
The travelling side’s only slip up this campaign came at the hands of Saracens in round two but wins against Loughborough, Exeter and Leicester mean Sale will arrive full of confidence as they aim to reach their first ever final since their inception in 2020.
Head Coach Tom Hudson said “We’re hugely excited to be in our first semi-final. It’s a really nice sign of the upward trajectory we are on and a reward for the hard work everyone has put in”, while Cup co-captain Sharifa Kasolo described it as “A momentous occasion for the club to make a semi final for the first time. For us all to be a part of something historic feels very special. It’s a credit to all the hard work we have put in this season. There’s still more to play for, and we’re looking forward to embracing the challenge”.
