TEAM NEWS | NEWCASTLE RED BULLS U23s v SALE SHARKS JETS
New signing Cebo Dlamini will pull on a Sharks shirt for the first time on Friday night as the Sale Sharks Jets take on Newcastle Red Bulls’ U23s side ahead of the meeting of the two clubs’ senior sides.
Red Bulls and Sharks will meet at 7.45pm on Friday night in the Gallagher PREM with the Jets taking to the Kingston Park pitch for a curtain-raiser at 4.30pm. And you can watch the Jets live on YouTube.
Following the Jets’ win over Harlequins on Saturday, Tom Burrow has once again been named as skipper while Charlie Bray and Dylan Hodkinson are also set to start in a powerful pack.
With first team coaches watching on once again, this game is another chance for the club’s brightest young talents to make the case for senior minutes when the PREM Rugby Cup restarts with back-to-back home games against Bristol Bears and Exeter Chiefs in November.
Ralph McEachran, Alfie Longstaff and South African prop Dlamini will team up in a powerful front row with captain Burrow and Hodkinson supporting them in a towering second row.
Jos Gilmore, Seb Kelly and Bray make up a mobile back-row behind them.
England U18s scrum-half Will Bayston and Ollie Davies form the half-back partnership once again, with trialist Billy Pasco and Osian Roberts outside them in the centres.
David Opoku-Fordjour and Alex Wills will start on the wings with Austin Keogh at full-back.
Oli Spencer, Wills Austin, Patreece Bell and Lawrence Ogbonnaya are the front row replacements with Patrick Hogg, Tristan Woodman and Reuben Logan also in reserve.
Sedgley Park scrum-half Mason Winterburn, U18s player Tom Gaffey, Ponipate Loganimasi and trialist Tom Lambo are the backs on the bench.
