MATCH PREVIEW: Sale Sharks v Saracens

Sale Sharks face Saracens this Sunday 3pm at the AJ Bell Stadium in a colossal clash of the table-toppers.

League-leaders Saracens travel to Manchester having only lost two league games all season and off the back off a 29-23 win over Newcastle last weekend.

On the other hand, Sale sit 11 league points behind Mark McCall’s men, second in the Gallagher Premiership, and will host Sarries off the back of two losses in the last two weeks, against Exeter and Northampton.

When the teams met earlier in the season, at the StoneX in October, Saracens ran out 33-22 winners, however, Sale have only lost at home in the league once all season.

Despite it being a Six Nations fallow week, Saracens may be without a number of their England stars, the likes of Owen Farrell, Mako Vunipola, Maro Itoje and Max Malins could be retained by Steve Borthwick in England camp. On the other hand, Sale could be bolstered by the return of Ben Curry if he is released.

A win for Sale could narrow the gap at the top to seven points, while a win for the home team could extend the buffer to sixteen.
