ROLE: Assistant Groundskeeper and Maintenance Operative

HOURS OF WORK: Part time or Full time

SALARY: from £26k

WORKING STYLE: On-site at our Carrington High Performance Training Centre

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Maintenance and upkeep of the training pitches and grounds:

  • Prepare pitches for play, including installing/removing flags and post protectors.
  • Working as part of the groundskeeper team to maintain the upkeep of the pitches at Carrington
  • Work within the schedule to ensure the pitches are ready for use at the times required
  • Mow, line-mark, and maintain all rugby pitches to optimum standards
  • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, line markers, etc.).
  • Maintain pitch-side equipment (flags, post protectors, goalposts).
  • Remove litter and debris from pitches and club grounds.

Maintenance and upkeep of the site facility both internal and external:

  • Painting
  • Repairs
  • Cleaning
  • Taking deliveries
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained, used correctly and all relevant paperwork is completed daily, including fault reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

  • Qualified groundskeeper with experience
  • Good practical understanding of pitch management and maintenance
  • Positive and can-do attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • The successful candidate will need to have basic health and safety risk assessment knowledge,
  • Ability to work without constant supervision and prioritise workload according to fixture lists and weather conditions.
  • To work collaboratively as part of a two-man team.

Desirable

  • Able to work with different stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Proactive approach to spotting when standards aren’t up to scratch
