Sale Sharks lock Ben Bamber has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a contract extension until 2030.

The towering 25-year-old has made 77 appearances and scored three tries for the club since making his debut in a Prem Rugby Cup fixture in 2022.
Standing at 6’9” and weighing in at more than 120kg, Salford native Ben joined Sharks during the 2021/22 season following his release from Bristol Bears.
He originally made the move to the south-west after being spotted playing rugby league in Huddersfield.
Ben represented England at under 20 level and was part of the England u20 elite player squad in 2021. He made his debut for England’s A team in 2024 and followed that up with two more appearances in 2025 and 2026.

Ben said: “This club helped me fall back in love with rugby and I’m so grateful.
“It’s given me my Prem Cup debut, my Prem debut and my Champions Cup debut and given me the chance to play with some amazing players and learn from great coaches.
“I grew up around the corner and the club holds a really special place in my heart. You can see what’s building here and where the club wants to go. I know it’s not been the best season but everyone here wants to make this happen and I want to be a part of it.”
Sharks Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson said: “I love what Ben Bamber is all about and I love what he represents for this part of the world and how that represents the kind of club we want to be.
“His appetite to work and do the hard stuff is absolutely second to none. He wants to stay here for his whole career and that’s unheard of in the modern era.
“We took a punt on Ben and plucked him from the factory floor and now he’s one of our best players and the brilliant thing from a coach’s point of view is that he’s nowhere near done.
“He’s a brilliant player and the more we throw at him, the better he gets. He’s a joy to work with and I’m so happy that he’s staying.”
