Sale Sharks Foundation is committed to giving back to rugby by supporting grassroots clubs and creating meaningful opportunities for young people across the North West.
That commitment is brought to life through their rugby camps, where participation goes beyond player development and directly contributes to the growth of the game locally.

Through the Foundation’s host club incentive scheme, Chester Rugby Club is one of a number of host venues that has benefitted from a percentage of camp revenue going straight back into their club. This kick-back model ensures that every young player who attends a camp is helping to strengthen the future of rugby at grassroots level, turning participation into lasting impact within their own community.
At Chester, this support has already made a tangible difference, strengthening their Women & Girls section in particular.
“The camp kick-back donations have made a real difference to our Women & Girls section here at Chester Rugby Club. The funding is being directly invested into retaining our current players, developing future talent and importantly attracting new players into the game,” Sabrina McGill from Chester Rugby Club explained.
“Thanks to this support, we’ve been able to run girls-only school festivals, provide much-needed kit and equipment, and organise team socials that really strengthen the group.”
Beyond the financial support, the opportunities to be coached by expert Foundation coaches, including players from Sale Sharks Women, has proved inspiring for those learning their way in the game.

“It was brilliant to welcome Laura Perrin to the club to deliver a tailored session for our girls. She’s a fantastic coach, and the fact that she represents Sale Sharks Women makes it even more meaningful,” Sabrina explained. “She connects with the girls on another level and is a great role model for them.
“More broadly, having such strong support on our doorstep is invaluable. The camps themselves provide a brilliant environment for young players to enjoy rugby, develop their skills and build confidence in an environment they are comfortable in. The investment you return to clubs like ours, through the kick-back scheme, is what allows us to keep growing the game at grassroots level.”
