SHARKS REVEAL LOWRY-INSPIRED HOME KIT
Sale Sharks have revealed the club’s new Macron home kit for the 2026/27 season, paying tribute to celebrated Salford artist LS Lowry, who died 50 years ago this year.
The distinctive navy design, which will be worn by both the men’s and women’s teams, includes an embossed pattern on the darker blue shoulders, inspired by Lowry’s brushstrokes.
And the sleeve cuffs and side panels feature shades of yellow, burnt red and brown drawing on the work of Lowry, who was known for his depictions of everyday life and industrial landscapes in Salford and across Greater Manchester during the 20th century.
An embossed shark features on the lower back section of the shirt, accompanied by a quote inspired by Lowry reading: “It’s the battle. And fate. The purpose. How wonderful it is. It’s the art of success”.
On the chest, the Macron Hero is embroidered in white on the right, while the Sharks crest sits on the left. The club’s principal partner, Toshiba, is displayed across the chest of the men’s shirt, with DMR Jewellers below the neckline, FOW Car Supermarket on the right sleeve and PP O’Connor on the shoulders.
The Sale Sharks Women shirt displays principal parter BOL across the chest with FOW on the sleeve.
The tribute to Lowry is part of a wider club campaign to celebrate and champion northern artistic talent. Ahead of each home game in the Gallagher PREM a different local artist will commission a unique piece inspired by that fixture.
That artwork will feature in the club’s promotion of the fixture and the artist will have the chance to display their work around the stadium on matchday.
The kit is completed by blue shorts, featuring side panels that reprise the shirt’s artistic graphics and blue socks with fine golden yellow and burnt red stripes.
The new 2026/27 home shirt features a Body Fit and, like all Macron technical garments developed for its partner clubs, is made using Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric produced from recycled post-consumer plastic.
The main fabric is Eco Armevo, while Eco Boditex and Eco Strong Mesh inserts contribute to the garment’s lightness, breathability, durability and high-performance properties.
The new 2026/27 home kit, together with the apparel collection created by Macron for Sale Sharks, is available in the dedicated Sale Sharks section on macron.com as well as from the club shop at the CorpAcq Stadium from 10am today (Wednesday 2nd September).
