Scotland skipper Sione Tuipulotu made the move to Scotstoun in 2021 after spells in Japan and in his native Australia, where he became the first homegrown player to represent Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby.

In total, Tuipulotu made 11 appearances for the Rebels, also impressing for Melbourne Rising with 12 tries in 32 appearances in the NRC.

He was part of the Australia squad for the World Rugby U20 Championships in 2015, 2016 and 2017, scoring a brace against a Scotland side containing future team-mates Scott Cummings and Zander Fagerson in the 2016 tournament.

After making the move to Glasgow, Tuipulotu was named in the Scotland squad for the 2021 summer tour, qualifying courtesy of Greenock-born grandmother Jaqueline Thomson. He made his Scotland debut in October 2021, starting at outside centre in the Autumn Nations Series match against Tonga at BT Murrayfield.

He made his club debut against Ulster in the opening match of the 2021/22 season, and after becoming an integral player for both club and country, Tuipulotu was named Scotland captain for the 2024 Autumn Nations Series.

His status as one of the very best players in the northern hemisphere was confirmed by his selection for the 2025 British & Irish Lions tour of Australia, with Tuipulotu scoring the opening try in the first Test victory over the hosts.

Glasgow-born second-row Scott Cummings joined the Warriors elite development roster in the summer of 2014, earning a professional contract in 2016.

He made his debut for Glasgow in a pre-season fixture against Clermont Auvergne prior to the 2015/16 season, scoring his first try in a victory over Connacht in round two of the 2015/16 Guinness PRO12.

He established himself as a member of the Warriors senior squad ahead of the 2017/18 campaign, scoring an impressive try against the Dragons in pre-season before a series of eye-catching performances in the early rounds of the Guinness PRO14.

Cummings has represented Scotland throughout the age-grades, captaining the U20s in the 2015 World Championships in Manchester, and in 2019, he made his international debut off the bench against France in Nice. His first try for his country came against Georgia in Tbilisi, three days before being named in the Scotland squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Cummings was selected in the 2025 British & Irish Lions squad to tour Australia, making five appearances on tour for the men in red.

A Scotland international at U18 and U20 level, versatile back Stafford McDowall signed his first professional contract with Glasgow Warriors in 2018.

Comfortable in both the centres and the back three, McDowall made his competitive debut for the club in a 43-13 victory over the Southern Kings at Scotstoun.

His form in 2018/19 saw him rewarded with the Land Rover Young Player of the Season award, following an eye-catching campaign in the Warriors midfield, and he was named as captain for the first time in January 2023, scoring a try as he lead the Warriors to a 40-26 victory over USA Perpignan.

McDowall reached 100 appearances for Glasgow at the CorpAcq Stadium in the opening match of last season’s Investec Champions Cup campaign, marking the occasion with a try in Glasgow’s 26-21 win against Your Sharks.

On the international scene, McDowall won his first Scotland cap against Italy in the 2023 Famous Grouse Nations Series. He was then selected for the 2024 Guinness Six Nations squad, making his Six Nations debut against Ireland in Dublin alongside fellow Glasgow Warriors centre, Huw Jones.

He was named as co-captain for Scotland’s opening match of the Skyscanner Americas tour, scoring a first international try in the win over Canada in Ottawa.
