Promising hooker Alfie Longstaff signed a Senior Academy contract with Sale Sharks ahead of the 2024/25 season.
A proud Yorkshireman, Alfie attended Rodillian Academy High School, and Woodhouse Grove, Bradford, for Sixth Form. He also played for Sandal and the Yorkshire Rugby Academy, where he captained the side in his last season.
Alfie spent time on loan at both Sale FC and Preston Grasshoppers during the 2024/25 season and made his Sale debut in the Prem Rugby Cup. A memorable year was completed when he made his Gallagher Prem debut off the bench against Bristol Bears.
On the international scene, Alfie has played for England at U18s, U19s and in 2025 was called up to play for England U20s against Wales and Georgia.
He was selected in Mark Mapletoft’s squad for the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship
