Versatile back rower Huw Davies grew up in a rugby-mad family in Braichmelyn, Bethesda, in North Wales, and began his rugby career as a junior at Clwb Rygbi Bethesda RGC.
Another former Kirkham Grammar School alumni, Huw became involved with the Sharks DPP at the age of 12 when he and his parents decided he needed to test himself at a higher level.
The pandemic meant that Huw missed out on his chance to join up with the Wales under 18 squad, but in November 2021 he was called up into an under 20 training camp.
