Towering lock Hyron Andrews initially joined Sale Sharks from the HollywoodBet Sharks in South Africa as injury cover for Jonny Hill towards the end of the 2023/24 season.
Standing at 6ft8, Hyron’s lineout expertise proved vital as he played a key role as the club won five in a row to secure a play-off place.
He impressed so much that he was handed a one-year deal to stay for the 2024/25 season and that was extended again for the 2025/25 campaign.
Prior to joining Sale, Hyron made 83 appearances for his South African team, scoring three tries, and was part of the Sharks side that suffered a Champions Cup quarter-final defeat to Toulouse in 2023.
