Who We Are
At Sale Sharks Foundation, we’re Levelling the Field for communities across the North West. As the official charity of Sale Sharks, we harness the power of rugby to boost health, fight inequality, and foster a sense of belonging. Through schools, community inclusion and rugby development programmes, we support children, young people and adults to thrive.
Since our launch in 2010, we’ve transformed the lives of tens of thousands of people. Whether it’s introducing people to rugby for the first time, developing vital life skills, or providing targeted support in areas facing the greatest barriers, we’re committed to helping our communities feel connected, supported and empowered.
Our Strategy
Our Levelling the Field strategy outlines how the power of rugby can drive meaningful, lasting change. It’s built on the belief that the real power of rugby lies beyond the pitch – it can break barriers, build belonging, and shape brighter futures for those who need it most. This includes women and girls, disabled people, those living in poverty, and young people at-risk.
Our strategy reflects a community‑driven approach to some of the region’s most pressing challenges, from health inequalities to social isolation and limited access to opportunity. By combining the ethos of the club with targeted, place‑based work, our Foundation aims to deliver lasting impact and engage with 75,000 people over the next five years.
Our Programmes
Our programmes reflect the diversity of the region and the ambition of our new strategy. From wheelchair rugby and veterans’ support to school sessions, inclusion projects and holiday camps, we’re proud to deliver meaningful impact across all ages and abilities.

Our Impact
Whether you’re discovering our work for the first time or exploring how far we’ve come, our annual Impact Reports showcase how we’ve supported thousands of people, families and communities through our programmes.
In 2024/25, we delivered 30+ programmes and engaged with more than 21,000 people across the region, of which 17,708 played some form of rugby.
