Sale Sharks is delighted to welcome Manchester healthcare facility the OrthTeam Centre to the Sharks Family as the official healthcare partner to the club’s Women’s team.
The Didsbury-based facility provides world-class expertise and specialist support, combined with state-of-the-art diagnostics for every musculoskeletal (MSK) problem.
And the centre will offer its medical and healthcare services to all players in Women’s Performance Lead Katy Daley-McLean’s squad for the 2021/22 Allianz Premier15s season.
The announcement was made during a special event at Sharks’ High Performance Training Centre, in Carrington, which saw two lucky local girl’s rugby teams have the opportunity to train with the Sharks Women’s squad.
Internationals Lauren Delany and Leah Lyons, as well as skipper Beth Stafford, put players from Preston Grasshoppers and Chester RUFC through their paces with a series of drills and match situations.
And they were on hand to offer some tactical advice too, to the girls who will play each other in the coming season.
Sam Chapman, General Manager at the OrthTeam Centre, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Sale Sharks Women’s Team in what are very exciting times for the sport.
“The popularity of women’s rugby has increased over the past few years, with Sale Sharks at the forefront, and we hope that our partnership will help to keep the team in top condition during the season ahead.”
Callum Yorke, Head of Women’s Operations at Sale Sharks, added: “It was fantastic to see so many girls at Carrington, launching what is a really important partnership for the club and the Sharks Women’s team.
“This partnership will allow us to offer the very best medical and healthcare treatment and advice to our players to ensure they can perform at the highest possible level.
“We’re so grateful to Sam and the team at the OrthTeam Centre for their support and we’re delighted to welcome them to the Sharks Family.”
The OrthTeam Centre’s support comes at a perfect time as the Allianz Premier15s season kicked off on September 4. Sale Sharks hosted Worcester Warriors Women at the Corpaq Stadium on the opening weekend.
