REPORTING INTO: Rugby Development Manager
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week, (flexible / part time options considered)
SALARY: £23,500 (FTE)

Sale Sharks Foundation is the charity partner of Sale Sharks, delivering programmes across health, education, inclusion, and grassroots rugby. Our mission is to promote physical and mental wellbeing in children and adults across the North West using the power of sport.
Established in 2010, Sale Sharks Foundation has spent the last decade changing over 75,000 lives in communities across our region. We are committed to introducing rugby to people of all ages and abilities, teaching vital life skills, tackling inequality and ultimately growing the Sharks Family.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Sale Sharks Foundation are seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Rugby Coach to join their Rugby Development Department to support the growth and development of Rugby Union within the North West.

KEY TASKS:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• England Rugby Coaching Award (or equivalent)
• Experience of working with young people.
• Experience of coaching Rugby Union.
• An understanding of safeguarding and risk procedures.
• Experience of working with underserved communities.
• Experience of introducing Rugby or another Sport to young people who haven’t experienced it before.

DESIREABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award (or equivalent)
• Level 2 sports coaching award in a second or multiple sports
• Experience of working with young people, in underserved communities.

THE ROLE:
The role will support the delivery of a range of programmes including inclusive tag, touch and contact rugby activities. Coaches deliver across a range of different settings from cross curricular sessions in a secondary and primary schools, Rugby Clubs, Community Groups, Residentials and various other locations/organisations across the North West.
