Sale Sharks To Kick Off Rugby World Cup Celebrations With Japanese-Themed Brunch

Sale Sharks Rugby Club and key partner, Together, will host a Japanese-themed brunch in Manchester to celebrate the start of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Taking place on September 26, at Leaf on Portland Street in the city centre, attendees include many of the club’s current players and partners, and special guest, Sky Sports presenter James Cooper.

Sharks legend and former England international Mark Cueto is set to co-host the event, which falls within the Business Club offering, with director of rugby Steve Diamond and Sharks wing Chris Ashton. All three will be involved in an interactive Q&A session; offering insight into the upcoming Premiership Rugby season.

During the event, there will be a live screening of the England v USA match, featuring Tom Curry and Mark Wilson for England going head-to-head with Sharks team-mate AJ MacGinty for the USA.

Mark Cueto, the Sharks commercial director, said: “We are all looking forward to the first Business Club event of the year, especially as it involves a live screening with our club sponsors, partners and players.”

“I have no doubt it will be a brilliant afternoon, and a great start to what I am sure will be a successful campaign for the England lads!

“A big thanks goes to Together for helping us arrange the brunch – it’s a great opportunity to celebrate our ongoing partnership.”

Andrew Charnley, head of corporate relationships at Together said: “We’ve sponsored the Sharks for the past two Premiership seasons and we’re delighted to be involved with this latest brunch event. It will be a fantastic experience for people to network, enjoy the England game and hear some real insight from top-class rugby players about their views on this year’s World Cup and the coming league season. I’m sure it will be a great success.”
