CRUSADERS FIN CLUB WELCOMES SHARKS PLAYERS FOR INCLUSIVE RUGBY EXPERIENCE

Sharks players Jos Gilmore and Luke James brought plenty of energy and smiles as they joined our Crusaders Fin Club for a fun and inclusive training session.

The pair spent time on the pitch with our Down syndrome rugby team, getting involved in passing drills, supporting small-sided games and enjoying a lively round of tag. Their enthusiasm helped create a brilliant atmosphere, and the players quickly became part of the group.

The session forms part of Sale Sharks Foundation’s Tackle Together programme, delivered in partnership with MBNA.

Crusaders Fin Club offers free, inclusive, non‑contact tag rugby sessions every other Sunday at our Carrington training centre.

The impact of the programme stretches far beyond the pitch, though. For participants and their families, the group has grown into a supportive community network – a place where they can feel a sense of belonging, be themselves, stay active, and build meaningful friendships.

Reflecting on the visit, Jos said: “It was really nice to meet some of the characters in the group and see how well everyone gets on. They are all so kind to each other, and I found spending time with them really enjoyable. There’s a massive community feel around the group and some really good friendships.”
