Special auction to raise funds for Sharks Community Trust to help its work with North West communities who are most in need

World Cup winner and Sale Sharks players donate signed boots and shirts for auction to raise funds for Sharks Community Trust to help change lives in North West communities most in need

 

It is just over a year since we were all hooked on the thrilling 2019 Rugby World Cup Final when England took on South Africa in Japan. All eyes were on the Sale Sharks team mates, Tom Curry and Faf De Klerk who on the day were rivals; both fighting to win their first World Cup Trophy On the day, South Africa broke English hearts with a ruthless display of power rugby to seize their third Rugby World Cup, but both Sharks players, Faf De Klerk and Tom Curry had fearless stand-out performances.

 

Following these highs in 2019, 2020 has been a much more difficult year following the outbreak of Covid-19 which has had a devastating impact on millions of people. Many lives have been lost to this cruel disease, many businesses have suffered, and charities in particular have struggled to continue helping and supporting those in desperate need with the North West region being one of the most affected regions in the country.

 

Sharks Community Trust is at the heart of the work to changes the lives of many in our North West community.  As a charity we support thousands of people: those who are elderly and isolated; vulnerable children and adults; young people who have dropped out of education and those with disabilities. The list goes on. Covid-19 has meant we have been – and continue to be – unable to deliver many of our normal activities helping those who really need us. We have lost out financially, and as a result, the people and communities we regularly work with have been unable to benefit from our on-going help and support.

 

So, to raise funds to enable us get back helping as many people as possible in our community, we are excited to launch our World Cup Final Special Auction following donations made to the Trust of World Cup items from both Faf and Tom. All funds raised will go to Sharks Community Trust and will support the life-changing work we deliver, and are determined we will continue to deliver, within our community.

 

The following unique items are up for auction:

 

  • Faf De Klerk – Framed signed South African shirt
  • Faf De Klerk – Framed signed match boot (worn by Faf 2019)
  • Faf De Klerk – Framed signed match boot (worn by Faf 2019)
  • Tom Curry – Signed England polo XXL
  • Tom Curry – Signed England t-shirt XL
  • Manu Tuilagi – Signed England polo M

 

 

The auction will be going live on Friday 27th November 2pm and biding can be made by emailing community@salesharks.com.  Each item has a reserve bid and we will respond to each bid to let you know if you are winning the auction. The auction will end on Friday 4th December 5pm.
