Sale Sharks are proud to release the launch video for the club’s new vision – The Northern Force.
The Northern Force represents one club, united — setting the standard on and off the field.

It is a vision bigger than rugby, bringing together fans, communities, charities, and partners, all pulling in one direction to represent the North on every front.
Inspired by the story of 1936, this legacy continues to set the standard for the club today. The launch video tells the remarkable story of Sale’s 1936 sevens team, who travelled to Twickenham and earned the nickname “The Northern Force”. The film is narrated by Mark Chapman.

In 1936, the Middlesex Sevens raised funds for a new cancer wing at Middlesex Hospital. This year, Sale Sharks will mirror that effort by supporting The Christie Charity in the development of its new screening centre.
As part of the campaign, Strength and Conditioning coaches Adam Simpson and Charlotte Drainer will run the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 19th April, before racing back to make kick-off of our clash against Saracens. Over the coming years, we will stand alongside The Christie Charity, supporting vital fundraising to help deliver their new cancer screening centre.

At this Sunday’s fixture supporters can purchase a limited-edition 1936 replica matchday programme for £5, with all proceeds split between the Sale Sharks Foundation and The Christie Charity.
Be part of our new chapter. Join The Northern Force.
2026/27 Season Tickets will go on sale on 25th April. 90 years to the day when the Northern Force was formed.
