Sale Sharks lock Hyron Andrews has signed a new one-year contract to stay at the club for the 2025/26 season.
The towering South African initially joined Sale from the Durban-based HollywoodBet Sharks towards the end of the 2023/24 season as injury cover for Jonny Hill.
Standing at 6’8”, Hyron’s lineout expertise proved vital as he played a key role as the club won five in a row to secure a play-off place.

The 29-year-old impressed so much that he was handed a one-year deal to stay for the 2024/25 season and that has now been extended again for the coming campaign.
Prior to joining Sale, Hyron made 83 appearances for HollywoodBet Sharks, scoring three tries, and was part of the Sharks side that suffered a Champions Cup quarter-final defeat to Toulouse in 2023.
Hyron said: “I was a little nervous about coming to Sale because it was the first time I’d played overseas, but from the first day I arrived, I’ve absolutely loved it.
“It’s a fantastic club, and a brilliant group of players and coaches and they’ve made it really easy for me and my family to settle in. It was an easy decision to stay for another year.

“It was a challenge to leave home, but my wife has loved it and being so happy off the field has allowed me to focus on going to work and performing.
“It’s been so much fun but we know there’s a lot of work to do as well, to make sure we take the next step and win the Premiership. We need to keep working on the things that make us such a good team, improve our away form and we can get there.”
