TEAM NEWS – Sale Sharks Women v Bristol Bears Women

Katy Daley Mclean has made just one change to her starting XV as her squad prepares to face Bristol Bears Women this Sunday

After putting four tries past league leaders Saracens last weekend, there will be little surprise that Katy Daley Mclean has opted for consistency in her squad selection this week, with winger Lisa Neumann the only addition to her starting XV.

The Welsh speedster, who turned professional earlier this month, comes in for fellow countrywoman Jess Kavanagh on the right wing.

Elsewhere in the backs, consistency is key, with the ever-dependable Lauren Delany starting at fullback and lethal finisher Evie Tonkin completing the left-flank of the back-three.

Katana Howard and Laura Perrin pair up at inside and outside centre for Sharks, a Bear-proof roadblock in the middle of the park.

In the half-backs, Mhairi Grieve and Lizzie Duffy start at nine and ten in a partnership that bridges the gap between tempered experience and youthful flair.

Shark’s unchanged pack will look to build on the strong set-piece platform manufactured against Saracens. Front-rowers Nick James, Leah Lyons, and Catie Benson put in an exceptional performance across the field last week and will look to profit in the narrow channels.

Skipper Stafford retains her spot in the second-row and will continue her synergy with the powerful Molly Morrissey.

Daisy Hibbert-Jones, and Georgie Perris-Redding will mark the flanks of the scrum at blind and open-side respectively, whilst last week’s try-scorer Vicky Irwin starts at eight.

On the bench there is another Welsh professional with Gwenllian Pyrs covering at prop, with hooker Molly Kelly also joining the frenzy.
